About Me

Ancient Paper
Soumya Ayer, Author and story teller

I am hooked by the stories that objects tell, whether they are those of statues, dishes, puppets or cloth from long, long ago. They make you wonder about the men and women who lived in a different place and a different time and how they shaped our world today.

As a kid I loved listening to stories from Indian mythology. My father told me one story every night, otherwise my day was not complete. Stories build people and these stories shaped me. At the age of four, I knew I wanted to tell stories too, and no matter what I did or where I was, I was always writing in my spare time. When I’m not writing, you will find me with a book or in a museum, or out taking a long walk plotting a story.
